Bullet pierced through UPNG undergraduate’s stomach
PORT MORESBY: A post-mortem has confirmed that the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) undergraduate was hit by a bullet that went through his stomach.
Stenic Whome Poiya was allegedly shot by a ward councillor who was chasing several men who were drinking in a market on Dec 13, 2019.

THE post-mortem of a university student killed in Mt Hagen recently revealed that he died from a bullet wound.
Jiwaka police commander Chief Insp Gideon Kauke told The National that post-mortem showed bullets went through his stomach.
“I have gathered some of my policemen to hunt down the suspect and arrested him by the end of this week,” Kauke said.
He said police received some tip offs of the suspect’s accommodation.
Police asked him to surrender to but he refused, Kauke said.
“He will be arrested anytime this week because enough sources and information have been gathered.”
The deceased is Stenic Whome Poiya, a final-year tourism and hospitality student at the University of Papua New Guinea.
