Police have confirmed that two men were shot dead last Thursday (May May 26, 2022) in a clash between supporters of two political parties in Morobe’s Huon Gulf. Morobe commander Superintendent Jocob Singura confirmed that the incident in Manum village outside Lae was election-related. And the Supreme Court has ruled that anyone convicted of a crime after June 25, 2022, is not eligible to contest in General Election 2022 (GE22) or remain as an MP.
