MP’s wife accused of stealing K4m

PORT MORESBY: Police have completed their investigations into the misappropriation charge against Tambul-Nebliyer MP Win Bakri Daki’s wife for allegedly stealing more than K4 million from her husband’s company four years ago.

Police prosecutor Senior Sergeant John Wamuru informed a committal court in Waigani on May 17 that the police file was readyand served to Esther Daki through her lawyer Nelly Kapo on May 11 and was pending submission.

POLICE have completed their investigation into the misappropriation charge against Tambul-Nebliyer MP Win Bakri Daki’s wife for allegedly stealing more than K4 million from her husband’s company four years ago.
Police prosecutor senior sergeant John Wamuru informed the Committal Court in Waigani on May 17 that the police file was ready and served to Esther Daki through her lawyer Nelly Kapo on May 11 and was pending submission.
Magistrate Danny Wakikura then adjourned the matter to May 31 for submission on the evidence contained in the police hand up brief.
Police alleged on Jan 10, 2018, Esther allegedly transferred a sum of K2 million from Weklwm Limited and its subsidiary hire car and logistics company account into her personal account.
Weklwm Ltd and its subsidiaries was incorporated in 2007 and Daki was the only shareholder of the company with Esther as the secretary.
On July 18, 2017, after Daki was declared as Tambul-Nebliyer MP, Daki held a meeting and appointed Esther and his son Joshua Daki as the directors of Weklwm Ltd.
Next day on July 19, 2017, Daki allegedly entrusted Esther as the managing director to oversee the operations of Weklwm Ltd and its subsidiaries.
