3,625 candidates in electoral battle for a seat in 111-member 11th Parliament

PORT MORESBY: A total of 3,625 candidates are battling out in Papua New Guinea (PNG)’s General Election 2022 (GE22) for a seat in the 111-member 11th Parliament.

The GE22 hopefuls comprise 3,458 men and 167 women.

Sorcery shame for Papua New Guinea in X’mas PORT MORESBY: It was international shame for Papua New Guinea (PNG) this Christmas when sorcery reared its ugly head. Six women were stripped, bound to poles and burnt with hot knives as they screamed in pain, watched by an unsympathetic crowd. In a video that has gone viral in the internet, the women were accused of practising sorcery in Southern’s Enga.
