A MAN who allegedly forced his wife to have sex with his two friends while he watched and later joined in has been charged with rape.
The man, from Baluan in the Balopa local level government area of Manus, was drinking with two friends when he threatened his wife and forced her to have sex with his two friends. Manus police commander Chief Insp David Yapu said the three men, all from the same village as the victim, were charged with one count each of rape and were in police custody awaiting their appearance at the Lorengau District Court on Wednesday.
“The woman was upstairs in the house resting while her husband and his friends were drinking under the house,” Yapu said.
“The husband entered the home and threatened her, he told her to remove her clothes and forced her to have sex with his two friends.
“The incident occurred between 11pm and midnight on June 16 on Baluan.
“The victim survived an hour of pain and shame, before she managed to escape. She sought refuge in another home and with that family’s help, she managed to get on a boat and travelled to Lorengau town, which is nearly half a day boat ride from Baluan to lay complaint.
“She arrived in Lorengau and reported the matter to police, police armed with the identities of the men travelled into Baluan and arrested the three.
“All three suspects were interviewed and they allegedly admitted the offence. They were arrested and charged with rape.”
Chief Insp Yapu described the incident as “inhuman and animalistic” and such people had sick minds and no respect for their wives.
