Duo arrested in Lae for robbing Chimbu Governor

PORT MORESBY: Two men were arrested in Lae on Sunday (April 25, 2021) for allegedly robbing Chimbu Governor Michael Dua in Port Moresby on April 12, 2021.

The suspects, aged 18 and 27, and others robbed Dua of K250,000 in valuables and cash, a car that had a pistol in it.

TWO men allegedly involved in robbing Chimbu Governor Michael Dua of cash and personal items in Port Moresby have been arrested in Lae.
Lae Metropolitan Superintendent Chief Inspector Chris Kunyanban said police arrested the two men on Sunday.
The men, aged 18 and 27, are residents of Erima in Port Moresby.
They flew to Lae after the incident early this year.
They allegedly took a pistol, K20,000 in cash plus other personal items from Dua.
A police officer was allegedly shot during the robbery at 5-Mile.
The two men will be flown back to Port Moresby.
Met Sup Kunyanban thanked the people in Lae who had helped police arrest the suspects.
