Eastern Highlanders-Engans’ deadly combat in Port Moresby

PORT MORESBY: Two people were found dead after a fight between settlers broke out in the capital’s 5-Mile ridge on Saturday (Jan 15, 2022) evening.

A body was found near a motel and another was recovered after the fight between settlers from Eastern Highlands and Enga.

TWO people were found dead after a fight between settlers broke out in Port Moresby’s 5-Mile ridge on Saturday evening.
A body was found near a motel and another was recovered after the fight between settlers from Eastern Highlands and Enga.
Police had to go into the area, stop the fight, with both sides standing down, but warned that the situation remained tense. In 14-Mile outside Port Moresby, a man from Hela was reportedly stabbed and robbed, which led to the retaliation by his clansmen and the burning down of a house near the area where he was stabbed.
Police were late to stop the arson.
In other another incident over the weekend, a woman was stabbed by another woman.
