Vadavada bloodbath: Two men charged with murder

PORT MORESBY: Police investigations into Moresby South’s Vadavada Goilala-Enga tribal feuds and killings have landed two men in court charged with murder.

They are charged with kicking, punching and stabbing the security guard during a drunkard brawl in the settlement on Feb 13, 2021.

They will appear in court again on April 14.

TWO men from Central’s Tapini were charged in Waigani’s committal court yesterday with the murder of a security guard during a drunkard brawl in the Vadavada settlement on Feb 13.
The court also ordered both Airi Simon, 25 and Foxy Francis, 40, from Kuruau and Kerau villages to be remanded in Bomana Prison.
The accused allegedly kicked, punched and stabbed Waion Men in a drunkard brawl between Goilala and Enga settlers at about 3pm on Feb 13.
Men was on his way to work when the accused and their accomplices attacked him.
It was alleged that they chased Men who fell and the accused and their accomplices kicked and punched him, before stabbing him.
Men was sent to the Port Moresby General Hospital where he was warded in the intensive care unit and died on Feb 15.
Simon and Francis were captured by police with the help of Vadavada community leaders.
They will appear in court again on April 14.
