PORT MORESBY: A man slashed to death his Grade 11 schoolgirl friend who denied him sex in Madang on March 7, 2021.

POLICE have arrested a man for killing his grade 11 schoolgirl friend who denied him sex last Sunday.
The man, who is also a relative of the girl, had been friends with her for quite some time. Madang commander Supt Mazuc Rubiang said villagers worked with the police which led to the arrest yesterday afternoon.
Supt Rubiang said according to the witnesses and the police report, the man gained entry into the house at 2am while the schoolgirl was fast asleep.
He allegedly tried to have sex with the girl who resisted and the man slashed her with a bush knife.
“I am happy that the suspect is now in police custody,” Supt Rubiang said.
“He will be charged accordingly.
“The act of the man is inhumane and he needs to be dealt with by the law.
Supt Rubiang thanked the villagers for a job well done which led to the arrest the suspect who is held in the Jomba Police Station.
