Missionary couple assaulted
PORT MORESBY: Missionaries are people who serve God peacefully with a religious mission, especially Christianity.
So, why would anyone want to do or inflict harm on them? Presumably, followers of Satan?
A missionary couple was assaulted in New Ireland’s Kavieng on Feb 23, 2021.
Police have arrested two suspects who have been identified by the couple.

POLICE have arrested two suspects for assaulting a missionary couple in New Ireland’s Kavieng on Feb 23.
New Ireland commander Chief Insp Moses Itoro said the assailants, armed with an iron bar, broke into a house and beat up the man before sexually assaulting the woman.
He said the couple were fast asleep at 3am when the intruders broke the door to enter and went upstairs.
“The man tried to protect the woman but was assaulted with an iron bar,” Chief Insp Itoro said.
“The woman was then sexually assaulted,” he said.
He said police responded to a tip-off on the attack and rushed to the house which was only a five-minute drive from the station, but the assailants had fled with some valuables.
Police rushed the injured couple to the Kavieng General Hospital for medical treatment.
Chief Insp Itoro said police investigators launched an immediate manhunt for the suspects who were rounded up a day later and were held in the station lock-up.
He said the couple, from a missionary group based in the Highlands, had identified the suspects.
