Boyfriend, seven friends rape pregnant girlfriend

PORT MORESBY: A man held his 23-year-old seven-month pregnant girlfriend captive for three days and took turns to rape her with his seven friends.

East New Britain commander Chief Insp Joseph Tabali said the incident happened in Kojkopo’s Ralalar village in the Raluana Local Level Government from Sept 15 to 18, 2021.

POLICE in East New Britain have arrested seven men who allegedly held a seven-month pregnant woman captive for three days and continuously gang-raped her.
Provincial police commander Chief Insp Joseph Tabali said the 23-year-old woman’s boyfriend allegedly conspired with the men to take turns in raping her.
He said the incident happend at Kokopo’s Ralalar village in the Raluana local level government between Sept 15 and 18.
“The man asked his girlfriend to meet up at a nearby garden,” Tabali said.
“He and his friends then threatened her with bush knives and took turns to rape her.
“They then held her captive for three days and nights and continued to rape her.”
Chief Insp Tabali said they took photographs and video of the victim in the nude and inserted sticks into her private part.
“The girl felt very weak and hungry while in captive.
“When the rapists were busy, she escaped to the United Church pastor’s house whose occupants then helped her to the St Mary’s Vunapope Hospital.
A police report was also lodged,” he added.
Chief Insp Tabali said the Kokopo Police Response Unit and Mobile Squad 17 and 18 conducted a dawn raid early this week and picked up the seven suspects, aged between 18 and 29.
“The prime suspect, the girl’s boyfriend is still at large and we appeal to the father to surrender his son to the police.
I am giving him until the weekend to hand the suspect over to us,” he added.
