Magistrate Alex Kalandi yesterday read out the charges to Kelly Andrew, granted him a K1,000 bail and adjourned hearing to Oct 21.
The teacher is alleged to have on Aug 23, between 3pm and 4pm, touched the girl when she was running back to the dormitory to remove her uniform from the clothesline.
Andrew was standing on the steps and rested his hands on the rail in the front of the school administration block with some boys.
When the girl rushed down the steps of the administration block, he took his hand off the rail and allegedly touched her.
The girl turned around and looked at the teacher who responded saying: “Yu ya” (It’s you), followed by him gritting his teeth and smiling.
The boys stared at her and started laughing.
The girl walked away to her dormitory crying and later called her family and told them about the alleged incident.
