Teenager charged with murder

PORT MORESBY: A 17-year-old boy was charged in the Waigani committal court with murder in Gerehu Stager 4 on Dec 2, 2021.

Mgistrate Paul Nii readf out the charge to Allan Aihi, from Kairuku’s Paikua village in Central, remanded him and adjourned hearing to March 3, 2022.

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy was charged in the Waigani Committal Court with murder in Gerehu Stage 4 on Dec 2.
Magistrate Paul Nii read out the charge to Allan Aihi, from Kairuku’s Paikua village in Central, remanded him and adjourned hearing to March 3.
Police alleged that at about 6pm, Aihi was doing his marketing along the road in Gerehu Stage 4 when he got into a fight with the victim.
The victim allegedly had a fight with Aihi the previous day.
On Dec 2, the deceased confronted Aihi and allegedly fought again with him.
Aihi allegedly pulled out his knife and stabbed the victim on the left side of his chest.
The victim was rushed to Gerehu Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival.
Aihi was detained by civilians and brought to Gerehu Police Station.
On Dec 7, Aihi was taken into the criminal investigation department.
He was then cautioned, arrested and charged.
