The governments of the day have tried extremely hard to provide affordable housing for the people but the remedy has been excruciatingly slow. However, there is hope for more effective measures to help ease the problem with the Government and the private sector, especially financial institutions like BSP, working hand in glove to push for home ownership. PNG’s CJ wants Police Minister probed PORT MORESBY:  Papua New Guinea (PNG)’s Chief Justice Sir Gibbs Salika wants Police Minister Bryan Krammer to be investigated for a post in the minister’s Facebook page. Gibbs has requested that Kramer be probed under s.11 (Section 11) of the Summary Offences Act and to look at the the possibility of laying charges under the Cyber Crime Act as well. Section 11 of Summary offences relate to a false or misleading report. It states a person who spreads false or wilfully misleading reports tending to cause trouble or ill feeling amongst people or groups of people, including between individuals is guilty of an offence. A tall order for PNG to become a rice exporter by 2030 PORT MORESBY:  Prime Minister James Marape had boldly announced that he wants Papua New Guinea to be self-sufficient in rice production by 2025 and to be rice exporter by 2030. According to a news report in The National, the Government would need to support some 15,000 rice farmers nationwide in the bid to steer PNG towards self-sufficiency. The Government also needs to support many others measures to ensure it achieves its targets.
