ANOTHER one of the five men who allegedly killed a Chinese man during a robbery in Madang on Feb 24 surrendered to Lae police on Thursday, Northern commander Assistant Commissioner Peter Guinness says.
“The 23-year-old murder-robbery suspect is from Angoram’s Biwat Village in East Sepik, who resided in Madang’s Billia village,” he said.
Guinness said the suspect was transported to Madang where he would be interrogated and if there was enough evidence, he would be charged for the offence that had been committed.
He said another suspect had earlier surrendered and police investigation was progressing well.
“We have already identified the other three suspects on the run,” he said.
“They are advised to surrender.
“It is good that you surrender instead of we having to come for you.”
Guinness also called on the relatives of the suspects to bring them forward to the police.
“The best way for them is to surrender to avoid unforeseen circumstances,” he said.
“The two who surrendered are now held in the Jomba Police Station for investigations.”
On March 24, store manager Weng Yanqing, 41, from China’s Fujian, was shot and wounded when the five robbers raided Weng/Good Life Supermarket.
