A 25-YEAR-OLD woman was killed following a binge drinking in Enga’s Wabag on Dec 3, says commander Superintendent George Kakas.
“The body was found near a public toilet at 2am on Dec 4. We believe she was murdered by one of her friends,” he said.
Kakas said the woman was last seen with three people believed to be her friends.
“Two men, a woman and the deceased left the party in Kamas village and went to Wabag for the binge drinking,”he said.
“The men were believed to have a friendship affair with the deceased and the other woman.
“During the drinking, it was alleged the four sat in pairs
“Based on assumptions, the deceased was forced into having sexual intercourse with the man she sat with. We believe that when the deceased refused to have sex with him, he killed her.”
Kakas said, according to an autopsy report from Wabag General Hospital, the deceased was alleged to have been pushed towards a moving vehicle.
“A post mortem report indicated that the deceased’s skull was fractured, she sustained bruises and minor scratches to her body,” he said.
Kakas said, on Tuesday last week, relatives of the deceased went to Wabag Police Station to demand the arrest of suspects involved in the killing.
“We have assured the family that we will arrest those involved in the murder and charge them accordingly,” he said.
Kakas said two suspects had surrendered to police, but the prime suspect was yet to be arrested.
