daughter-in-law files to remove charge
PORT MORESBY: National Capital District Governor Powes
Parkop’s daughter-in-law Quinnie Mick has filed an application with the Waigani
committal court to remove the charge of threatening.
Defence lawyer Edward
Sasingian told the court that the information was defective.
“It did not contain the
element of the charge of doing an unlawful act,” he added.
Police prsecutor Senior
Sergeant Joseph Sangam objected to the application, saying it was premature at
this stage and he would need time to confirm information about the allegations
against Quinnie with the arresting officer.
The ongoing case against Quinnie was reported by The National:

Police Prosecutor Senior Sergeant Joseph Sangam objected to the application,

Sangam asked for an adjournment so the necessary consultations could be made to
help the court and properly respond to the application.
“We will not be proceeding with this application as yet, the law allows us to
make amendments any time,” he said.
Mick, 24, from Ambum’s Kupin Kem village in Enga, is charged with one count
each of deprivation of liberty, robbery, threatening to kill and assaulting
Stacey Lydia Sirimai in Port Moresby last November.
She suspected Stacey Lydia of having an affair with her husband Sengol Parkop.
Magistrate Paull Nii adjourned the matter to March 24 to allow police to
consult the arresting officer and the court would hand down a ruling on the
application.
Quinnie’s bail was extended.
