Threatened woman goes to the police for help

PORT MORESBY: A woman who was captured on video threated by an unknown man (believed to be a policeman) has reported the incident to police, National Capital District/Central commander Assistant Commissioner Anthony Wagambie says.

“Her security is guaranteed and anyone who interferes with her and her family, by way of intimidation or threat will be dealt with swiftly,” he added.

THE woman at the centre of a video being questioned in a threatening manner allegedly by an unknown man has reported the incident to police, a senior official says.
National Capital District and Central commander Assistant Commissioner of Police Anthony Wagambie Jnr said the woman’s case was being attended to by specially-assigned investigators.
Wagambie went on to say her security had been guaranteed.
“Anyone who interferes with her and her family, by way of intimidation or threat, will be dealt with swiftly,” he said.
“The investigation has commenced and necessary action will take place once due process is completed.”
National Capital District Metropolitan Superintendent Gideon Ikumu said those implicated in intimidating the woman in Port Moresby were being investigated.
“The video got posted on Facebook,” Ikumu said.
“She (woman in the video) came forward after we appealed on Feb 9 to her through our Facebook page (Police NCD/Central Divisional Command).
“She has cooperated with the detectives by providing her statement.”
