15 beheaded, butchered in Madang’s Transgogol

PORT MORESBY: Does anyone believe Papua New Guinea (PNG) will progress socially and economically with the locals' continuous uncivilized behaviour, especially those in the rural areas?

Deteriorating law and order and deadly violence will only shame PNG internationally, thus driving away both local and  foreign investors.

More than 15 people have been beheaded and butchered in an ongoing tribal fight in Madang’s Transgogol this year, Commander Acting Supt Mazuc Rubiang said.

“The highest number of beheadings in a days occurred on Friday (Nov 25, 2022) in which 10 people lost their lives in three hours. Among those killed were a seven-year-old boy, a Community Policing Unit member and five men,” he added.

PNG Cyber Monitor reproduces below (uncensored pix of the horrific slayings, NOT FOR SENSATIONALION, but to knock some sense into the people and to jolt them into civility.

MORE than 15 people have been beheaded and butchered in an ongoing tribal fight in Madang’s Transgogol this year, says police commander acting Superintendent Mazuc Rubiang.
“The highest number of beheadings in a day occurred on Friday in which 10 people lost their lives in three hours. Among those killed were a seven-year-old boy, a Community Policing Unit (CPU) member and five men.
“They were all beheaded in Wanpaip village at about 5am,” he added.
Rubiang said the assailants, after beheading the seven, went on a rampage in Aufan village at about 8am and beheaded another three men, including another CPU member.
“The victims were not only beheaded but their bodies butchered, making it difficult for relatives to transport the bodies to the mortuary.
“Police and a doctor arrived at the scene and found that all 10 were beheaded, butchered and buried in shallow graves.
“Policemen interviewed the villagers who supplied the identities of the 10 victims. The team was then asked to leave.
“From the information that I have and confirmed with sources, the assailants are the same group involved in beheading people in the Transgogol area this year,” he added.
Rubiang lamented that police had arrested and charged some of the assailants but the problem was with the victims’ relatives who did not turn up to give evidence in court.
“In 2021, about 20 people were charged with murder and were committed to stand trial in the National Court. The court withdrew the cases because witnesses, who were relatives of those slain, failed to turn up in court to give evidence.
“We have also received information that the witnesses are scared because they will be victims if they are seen communicating with the police.
“The cases are complicated. We do not have the power to take away the lives of any people, so the only way is to arrest suspects. After being charged, the next problem is with the relatives of those killed.
“They are reluctant to help or cooperate with witness statements,” he lamented.
Rubiang also added that police would be deployed to monitor the “killing zone”.
