THE Waigani Committal Court has ordered an MP’s wife who was charged with misappropriation and forgery to inform her lawyer to come for submissions on police evidence.
Magistrate Danny Wakikura said the lawyer representing Tambul-Nebliyer MP Win Bakri Daki’s wife Esther Daki had to come to court to make the submission.
Wakikura said this yesterday when he was informed that Esther’s lawyer was not present in court.
He adjourned the matter to Tuesday (Nov 15) for a hearing on the submission.
The matter returned yesterday for the court to hear the submission which was filed and served to the police prosecutor last week.
Esther was charged with two counts each of misappropriation and forgery for allegedly putting to her own use K4 million from her husband’s company.
Police alleged that between Jan 10, and June 25, 2018, Esther allegedly transferred K4 million into her personal account.
